Shambhala Day

February 5th

Date details +

Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the New Year and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism.

Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year’s celebration of Losar, the day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar cycles.

We will gather at our Center and join the worldwide Shambhala community (via Zoom) in practice and hear an open-hearted message from the center of the mandala.

With all that our community has been through, it feels like an important time to gather and feel what brings us together and keeps us together as a community. For this Shambhala Day, we want to offer a live broadcast event that feels genuine and nourishing for many of us at this time.

The festivities begin at 12:15 pm. The international address begins at 1:00 pm.

Light refreshments and lunch hors d'oeuvres will be served.

All are invited to join us for lunch at Parizade at the conclusion of the festivities!
