Shambhala Basic Training: What Every Director Needs to Know
with Julia Sagebien
Registration for this program is restricted to those who have received an invitation to participate.
This course is a review of the corpus of knowledge underlying the Shambhala Training path from Level 1 through Warrior Assembly. It is meant to work in tandem with local training aimed at familiarizing director candidates with the three-fold logic and meditation techniques that are presented in each of the levels.
Locally, director candidates will also receive instructions on how to assume the role of director and on how to conduct a level, such as creating a container, working with staff and participants, etc.
Pre-requisites: Warrior Assembly or Kalapa Assembly
The course is open to two types of participants:
-
Shambhala Training Director candidates
-
Practitioners auditing the course as a review of their Shambhala Training journey
Ideally, ALL participants will have completed Warrior Assembly. If they have participated in the Sacred Path programs but not attended Warrior Assembly, they can still take the course but will not have access to The Golden Sun of the Great East text and lungta and stroke transmission that are presented at Warrior Assembly.
The Durham Shambhala Center will donate 50% of the registration fees to Dorje Denma Ling.
